Day 4: Clun Castle

I totally slept right through that alarm, so the roadtrip to Land’s End is gonna happen tomorrow. Instead, I just went back to sleep since I clearly needed it.

I ended up reworking the next two days’ trips and it’s all going to be fine. But by 2PM I had wandered around my part of Cardiff (eh) and it was starting to rain, so I hopped in the car and drove up to Clun Castle which I had had to cut out of Wednesday’s plans as part of the re-working after this morning’s time management issues.

But HOO BOY was it raining. Like, sheets and sheets of rain coming down hard. So while it was a nice drive up through the missed middle part of Brecon Beacons National Park and on to Clun Castle, I don’t really have any pics. Because. You know. Torrential rains.

What If…

I did have a random weird moment on part of today’s drive. I was on yet another one-lane road winding through trees alongside a lake (or, I guess, wait *looks* Talybont Reservoir) when I saw a car ahead of me. I had just come around a corner and the car ahead was just turning through the next bend and out of sight. This other car was the exact same make and model and color as the car I’m driving.

And, since I am a massive geek, my brain of course immediately spun up a scenario where through some kind of glitch-in-the-Matrix/Sliding-Doors type scenario I was catching a glimpse of myself just moments in the future and we were now two cars on divergent paths. Where was that other Kevin going? Perhaps he had made different changes to his itinerary this morning and so was on a different yet temporarily convergent route to make up for a deleted waypoint in his original travel plan? Where will he be tomorrow? Will we merge back together in Manchester as planned, Wednesday night?

If that other Kevin’s plans brings him across the path of some hot royal who is looking for a husband and they fall madly in love, we’d better merge back together on Wednesday or I’m gonna be pissed.
